Project Title: Literacy Intervention Initiative Proposal
Project Description:

CHAMPs Afterschool Program, located on St. Helena Island, SC on the campus of Church of the Harvest Apostolic serves at-risk students in grades K–8 through structured academic support, mentoring, and daily meals in partnership with the Beaufort County School District. All services are provided free of charge to ensure equitable access. Many of the students we serve attend one of the lowest-performing schools in the district and struggle with reading proficiency, which impacts performance across all academic subjects.
We are seeking $10,000 to launch a dedicated Literacy Intervention Initiative during the upcoming academic year (September–April). This project will fund the hiring of a certified teacher with specialized literacy training to provide targeted one-on-one and small-group reading instruction four days per week (12 hours weekly). The literacy specialist will work with approximately 10–15 K–8 students who are reading below grade level and require focused intervention to strengthen phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.
Funds will support instructional stipends and literacy assessment tools to track measurable growth. Progress will be monitored through reading fluency benchmarks, comprehension assessments, and collaboration with classroom teachers. Our goal is for at least 70% of participating students to demonstrate documented improvement in reading proficiency by the end of the program year.
By addressing literacy gaps early and consistently, this initiative will equip vulnerable students with the foundational skills necessary for academic confidence, improved classroom performance, and long-term educational success.
We are committed to providing a detailed report outlining student progress and the impact of foundation support.

Project Title: Summer Enrichment
Project Description:

The Summer Enrichment project is designed to prevent learning loss and address the critical literacy gaps that disproportionately affect vulnerable youth. It serves 30 K–8 students—many of whom have experienced trauma and challenging backgrounds—through novel studies, targeted instruction, and enrichment activities that build literacy skills, support social‑emotional growth, and provide a safe, structured environment each summer.

Children arrive at the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford with significant academic and emotional needs. Many have faced instability, neglect, or family disruption, which often leads to interrupted schooling and lower confidence in the classroom. Summer break can widen these gaps even further, making additional support essential for long‑term academic progress.

Our project counteracts this by offering a focused and engaging learning experience that keeps students intellectually active during the months when they are most at risk for setbacks. Daily lessons reinforce essential reading skills, while group discussions and hands‑on projects help students connect with the material in meaningful, enjoyable ways. This integrated approach strengthens comprehension, encourages curiosity, and helps students build a positive identity as learners.

Project Title: Curriculum and Assessment
Project Description:

We respectfully request $5,000 to implement the Experience Curriculum and integrated child assessment tools through brightwheel at our newly established rural childcare center. This funding will cover one full year of curriculum access, digital lesson planning, developmental assessments, and progress reporting.

As a small rural provider, we serve families with limited access to high-quality early learning opportunities. Many of the children enrolled come from underserved households where consistent, structured early education may not otherwise be available. Establishing a strong instructional foundation is essential to narrowing opportunity gaps before children enter kindergarten.

The Experience Curriculum offers research-based, developmentally appropriate, standards-aligned instruction that supports the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally. Through brightwheel’s integrated assessment tools, teachers will document observations, monitor developmental milestones, and use data to individualize instruction. In a rural setting, where readiness levels vary and early intervention resources may be limited, this intentional, data-informed approach is especially critical.

Without dedicated funding, small rural centers often rely on informal materials that lack consistency and measurable outcomes. This investment ensures our program begins with a cohesive, accountable educational framework that promotes school readiness and strengthens family engagement through transparent progress reporting.

By supporting this initiative, you will help ensure that rural children—regardless of income or circumstance—begin their educational journey with equitable access to high-quality early learning.

Project Title: Launch Point Golf Academy
Project Description:

Kingdom Fitness Foundation Inc. seeks funding to implement our Youth Golf Clinic, a structured introductory program designed to provide underserved youth ages 7–17 in Warner Robins and surrounding communities—including Houston, Peach, and Bibb counties—with equitable access to the game of golf. Many youth in these areas face financial and access barriers that limit exposure to golf and other lifetime recreational sports. This initiative removes those barriers while promoting physical activity, discipline, confidence, and positive mentorship.

The inaugural clinic will be held April 4, 2026, at International City Golf Course and will serve up to 15 participants. Youth will receive hands-on instruction in core golf fundamentals including grip, stance, swing mechanics, putting, and course etiquette, delivered by experienced instructors and trained community volunteers.

Program outcomes will include increased youth participation in structured physical activity, improved understanding of golf fundamentals and etiquette, strengthened confidence and sportsmanship, and expanded access to positive mentor-led recreational opportunities.

Grant funds will support facility fees, instructional personnel, equipment access for participants without clubs, program materials, and administrative operations to ensure affordability for families. Kingdom Fitness Foundation is requesting funding at the foundation’s allowable grant level to support the launch of the April clinic and establish the infrastructure needed to scale the program. With adequate funding support, the Foundation will expand this initiative into a recurring monthly clinic, increasing annual youth reach and deepening community impact across Houston, Peach, and Bibb counties.

Our long-term goal is to introduce youth to a lifelong sport, build confidence and character, and create sustainable pathways for continued participation in healthy, structured activities throughout Middle Georgia.

Project Title: Parent Grade Level Leads
Project Description:

Parent Grade Level Leads (PGLs) is a family engagement strategy designed to strengthen the connection between home and school so more students in Racine Unified School District can succeed. With only 28% of third graders reading at grade level and 19% of eighth graders meeting math benchmarks, the district faces persistent academic gaps. Breaks in instruction widen these gaps, and many families—especially those navigating economic barriers—struggle to support learning at home under new instructional models. PGLs address this challenge by lifting up parents as partners, leaders, and advocates in their children’s education.

Each PGL is a parent trained in leadership, collaboration, and data-informed decision-making. Assigned to their child’s grade level, PGLs work closely with teachers, attend grade-level meetings, and help plan and co‑facilitate parent engagement activities. Their core role is simple but powerful: helping other parents understand what their children are learning and how to reinforce that learning at home. As one PGL shared, “A parent who helps other parents.” This peer-to-peer model builds trust, reduces barriers to participation, and creates a welcoming bridge between families and school staff.

The centerpiece of the strategy is monthly Lunch & Learn sessions, where families gather in classrooms to share a meal, learn about grade-level goals, and participate in hands-on activities aligned to classroom instruction. These events have transformed engagement at Knapp Elementary. Attendance has nearly tripled—from 26–40% during the Spring 2025 pilot to 74–85% in Fall 2025—and surveys show 94–100% of families find the sessions highly engaging and want more opportunities to participate. Parents are stepping into leadership roles, volunteering more often, and expressing greater confidence in supporting their children’s learning.

Project Description:

WHAT IS KIDPOWER-VIRGINIA?
Kidpower Virginia – serving residents of the State of Virginia – is the local grassroots office of a small (< 1.2M budget) community-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in Santa Cruz, CA in 1989. ISSUE:

Young people struggle with high levels of conflicts, stress, anxiety, helplessness/despair/depression, suicide attempts, and other negative impacts on their mental and physical well-being that are driving many to a breaking point.

HOW WE PROPOSE TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE:
According to Dan Heath, the best-selling author of The Question to Solve Problems Before They Happen, "Kidpower works upstream to prevent and stop the harm and trauma caused by traumatic incidences.

Our $25,000 Initiative ‘Vaccine Against ACEs’ is aimed at equipping 250 of the most at-risk and vulnerable youth and their support systems throughout Virginia with prevention and restorative intervention tools and skills to keep themselves physically and emotionally healthy and safe. It will be conducted in collaboration with long term partner education, health and wellness organizations throughout Virginia. Please, see Kidpower’s Mental & Behavioral Health Skills, Strategies and Resources as tools used in the prevention & healing of trauma: kidpower.org/MentalHealth/

Being successful in PRACTICING (until integrated) how to take charge of our safety, mental and behavioral health, and emotional welfare, can replace helplessness with competence and confidence – and despair with healing and hope – leading to the prevention or reduction of much suffering.

Project Title: Fresh Start Workforce and Reentry Empowerment
Project Description:

Truth Church Philadelphia serves underserved adults and returning citizens in the City of Philadelphia through structured workforce development and economic empowerment initiatives. Located adjacent to a state correctional facility, the organization is uniquely positioned to engage justice-involved individuals and families navigating reentry and reintegration into the community. This proximity allows for trusted relationships and timely workforce stabilization support for individuals seeking a fresh start.

Many adults in the surrounding community face structural barriers to gainful employment, including limited access to professional networks, gaps in digital job search skills, lack of career readiness resources, and stigma associated with prior justice involvement. These challenges significantly impact long-term economic stability and successful reintegration.

The Fresh Start Workforce & Reentry Empowerment Initiative is a structured three-month pilot designed to improve employment outcomes for approximately 20 underserved adults, including returning citizens. Participants will receive individualized career development coaching, hands-on resume creation support, assistance establishing professional LinkedIn profiles, interview preparation, and financial literacy education.

The initiative will culminate in a targeted job fair featuring local employers and workforce partners committed to equitable hiring practices. By combining structured workforce training with direct employer engagement, the program creates tangible pathways to employment and economic mobility.

Grant funding will support participant materials, coaching stipends, digital access tools, transportation assistance, and job fair logistics. Volunteer professionals and community partners will provide in-kind meeting space and facilitation support, amplifying the impact of the requested funds.

This initiative represents a scalable model designed to promote long-term economic stability and opportunity within underserved Philadelphia communities.

Project Title: Performing Arts Access Initiative
Project Description:

Certainly. Here is the revised version with no dashes used in the sentence structure. It remains under 300 words:

We are a semi professional theatre serving our region through two mainstage venues, presenting a full season of musicals and plays alongside an expanding slate of arts education programming and youth productions. Each year, we engage thousands of patrons, students, and families, offering high quality live performances that entertain, educate, and inspire.

To ensure these experiences are accessible to all, we are seeking philanthropic support for a focused Performing Arts Access Initiative designed to remove financial barriers to participation. While demand for live theatre remains strong, cost continues to prevent many individuals, particularly youth and families, from attending performances.

This initiative will provide reduced cost tickets across our season, significantly lower youth ticket prices to encourage early engagement with the arts, and fund bussed school visits to weekday student matinees. For many students, these matinees represent a first experience with live theatre, an opportunity that can spark creativity, build empathy, and deepen classroom learning. By covering transportation and admission costs, we ensure that schools with limited resources can participate fully.

Support for this initiative will expand equitable access to the performing arts, cultivate the next generation of theatre goers and artists, and strengthen the cultural fabric of our community. Through this investment, philanthropy becomes a direct bridge between our stage and those who might otherwise never have the opportunity to experience it.
