Project Title: Backpacks for a Cause
Project Description:

Think back to a moment in childhood when you felt uncertain, unconfident, nervous, or scared and wished someone was there to reassure you.

I remember going school supply shopping and quietly worrying about how long my list would be, knowing what it might cost my parents when there was no extra income to spare. That feeling of uncertainty stays with you. Today, there are families and children all around us carrying that same quiet burden.

Operation Impact’s Backpacks for a Cause brings joy, confidence, and excitement to children when they choose their own school supplies and receive a backpack filled with the essential tools they need for the school year. For many families, purchasing basic school supplies can create financial stress at the very moment children should feel hopeful about learning. By providing fully stocked backpacks, Operation Impact helps remove this barrier and empowers students to start the school year prepared and proud.

Through a network of volunteers and partnerships with community organizations and Title I schools, Operation Impact mobilizes resources to collect, assemble, and distribute backpacks filled with new school supplies to children in underserved communities across the United States. Since launching this initiative in 2021, over 7,500 students have received backpacks that equip them for the classroom while restoring confidence and excitement for learning.

This project seeks funding to expand the reach of Backpacks for a Cause so that more children can begin the school year with the tools they need to succeed. Each backpack represents more than supplies, it represents dignity, encouragement, and the message that their education matters.

By investing in this program, your foundation will help relieve financial pressure on families, support teachers and schools, and ensure that every child has the opportunity to start the school year ready to learn and thrive.
