Project Title: 30 New Families at Camp Boggy Creek: A 30th Birthday Project
Project Description:

Across Florida, thousands of children live with serious illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, sickle cell anemia, immune disorders, and epilepsy. Frequent hospital stays, exhausting treatment schedules, and ongoing medical uncertainty place tremendous strain on entire families. Parents often feel isolated, siblings may feel overlooked, and families have little time or space to rest, reconnect, or process life after a diagnosis. Nearly 15% of children in Florida live with a chronic condition, and many families experience heightened stress, anxiety, and emotional fatigue throughout treatment and beyond.
As Camp Boggy Creek enters its 30th year, we are committed to reaching families who may be newly diagnosed and unaware that a medical camp like ours exists. To mark this milestone, Camp Boggy Creek is seeking 10 new funding partners to help welcome 30 new families to Camp through our Family Retreat programs—one for each year of our history. These families represent those who may have never had access to a medically safe space designed to support not just the child, but the entire family unit.
Family Retreats offer parents, siblings, and caregivers the opportunity to rest, reconnect, and build community in a supportive, medically supervised environment at no cost to families. With 24/7 on‑site medical support, accessible lodging, shared meals, and adaptive activities, families can enjoy quality time together without the stress of managing care alone. Retreats serve as an important entry point to Camp, helping families regain a sense of normalcy and connection during an overwhelmingly difficult season of life.
By supporting this 30th anniversary initiative, partners help ensure that more families experience not just a weekend away, but meaningful respite, renewed hope, and a lasting sense of belonging—reminding them they are not alone on their journey.
