Project Title: Youth Crisis Response Program
Project Description:

Unfortunately, many youth today face serious challenges, including abuse, homelessness, running away, neglect, and mental health struggles. Casa Youth Shelter’s Youth Crisis Response Program exists to meet them in these moments with immediate, compassionate support.

Our program is unique in that youth can come to us at any time for emergency housing in our licensed home-like shelter. While in our care, we meet their basic needs with a safe bed, nutritious meals, and clean clothing, but the support goes much deeper. Each youth receives intensive trauma-informed counseling to help them understand the root causes of their situation and begin the process of healing.

As part of this support, youth participate in group counseling alongside peers facing similar challenges, creating a sense of connection and shared understanding. We also engage parents and caregivers in counseling, recognizing that breaking cycles and creating lasting change requires healing within the entire family.

Youth are capable of shaping their own futures. Our role is to provide the tools, guidance, and support they need to do so. Through counseling, daily life skills training, case management, recreation, and consistent care, youth build confidence, stability, and a sense of ownership over their lives. All services are provided on-site by our staff.

Our Youth Crisis Response Program provides 24-hour crisis services at no cost to youth and their families. We do not bill insurance, and we do not pass costs on to the people we serve. Access to care is immediate and barrier-free because a crisis does not wait, and it does not discriminate.

In addition to shelter, the program offers counseling for youth who may not need to stay in our facility but are still experiencing crisis or instability. Thus allowing us to reach youth earlier, provide support before situations escalate, and ensure shelter remains available if needed.
