Project Title: OPERATION EMPOWER
Project Description:
CHICK Therapy is a community based initiative dedicated to improving emotional wellness, resilience, and life outcomes for women, girls, and underserved youth. The program provides safe, supportive spaces where participants can develop emotional intelligence, strengthen coping skills, and build confidence through guided discussion, mentorship, and therapeutic activities.
The project will expand CHICK Therapy’s structured programming to include weekly in person sessions, virtual support circles, and ongoing mentorship. Participants engage in curriculum focused on self awareness, healthy relationships, conflict resolution, and goal setting. Creative expression such as journaling and storytelling is incorporated to support healing and personal growth.
A key focus of CHICK Therapy is youth development, particularly for girls facing social and environmental challenges. By providing consistent support and positive role models, the program fosters stability, belonging, and empowerment during critical developmental stages.
This initiative aligns with the Charles and Jean Hermanowski Family Foundation’s commitment to strengthening communities and supporting human services by addressing the growing need for accessible, culturally responsive emotional wellness resources. CHICK Therapy prioritizes individuals who may face barriers to traditional mental health services.
Funding will support program expansion, facilitator training, curriculum development, and community outreach efforts. It will also enable the delivery of workshops and events that promote connection, dialogue, and collective healing.
Through this work, CHICK Therapy aims to equip participants with practical tools for emotional well being while fostering stronger, healthier communities.
