Money Makers in Training (MMIT) is Kash Kids’ signature workforce development and entrepreneurial education program designed to prepare youth for real-world economic success. The program equips students with essential financial knowledge, career readiness skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset needed to thrive in today’s workforce.

Through hands-on, project-based learning, participants develop foundational skills in money management, budgeting, saving, investing, and responsible credit use. At the same time, they strengthen critical workforce competencies such as communication, problem-solving, collaboration, leadership, and professional decision-making.

Students explore diverse career pathways, examine earning potential across industries, and connect financial literacy to long-term life planning. They design and pitch business ideas, operate mini-ventures, simulate workplace roles, and practice tracking revenue, expenses, payroll, and profit. These real-world applications enhance applied math skills, financial reasoning, and strategic thinking.

MMIT introduces entrepreneurship as a viable pathway to economic mobility—empowering youth not only to seek employment but also to create jobs and income-generating opportunities within their communities. Participants gain exposure to industry professionals, mentorship opportunities, and practical insights into workplace expectations and financial independence.

More than a financial literacy program, MMIT serves as a workforce pipeline initiative. It builds confidence, marketable skills, and career awareness—preparing students to transition successfully into higher education, technical training, military service, entrepreneurship, or employment.

Project Description:

The Starlight Scholars Early Access Scholarship Program provides need-based tuition assistance to children ages six weeks through five years in Tarrant County, Texas. Our mission is to remove financial barriers that prevent families from accessing high-quality early childhood education during the most critical developmental years of life.

Many working families in our community struggle to afford consistent, structured early education. Without access, children are more likely to begin kindergarten behind in literacy, social-emotional development, and foundational learning skills. Our scholarship program ensures that children from low- to moderate-income households can receive stable, enriched early education regardless of financial hardship.

This $10,000 grant will directly support partial scholarships for multiple children over a one-year period. While the total scholarship budget exceeds $35,000, this funding will expand the number of families we can serve and reduce waiting lists for tuition assistance. Funds will be fully utilized within the grant year.

Children in our program benefit from early literacy development, structured social-emotional learning, creative arts exposure, and age-appropriate community engagement activities that build responsibility and confidence. By investing in children during their earliest years, we are strengthening long-term academic outcomes and overall well-being.

Support from the Hermanowski Family Foundation would allow us to equip more young children in Tarrant County with the foundational tools they need to reach their full potential.
