Project Description:
The Arising Youth International Workforce Training Program is a comprehensive initiative designed to empower aged-out foster care youth with the skills and knowledge needed to enter and excel in the concierge and travel industry.
This program aims to provide these young talented students with the opportunity to secure gainful employment, build sustainable careers, and achieve financial independence.
Program Objectives: Equip aged-out foster care youth with the necessary workforce development skills to thrive in the concierge and travel industry.
Develop self-sufficiency and empower participants to support themselves financially.
Develop a talent pipeline for the travel industry, addressing workforce shortages.
Skills Training and Development: Customer Service Skills: Understanding the importance of exceptional customer service, concierge skills and developing effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
Computer Technology: Gaining proficiency in industry-specific software and online booking platforms.
Travel Planning and Coordination: Learning how to plan and organize travel itineraries for various purposes, such as business trips, family vacations, cruises, and weekend getaways.
Cultural Awareness: Understanding the culture and etiquette of different countries to ensure a culturally sensitive and respectful customer experience.
Financial Literacy: Acquiring knowledge of foreign and domestic currency exchange rates and budgeting for travel expenses.
Geography and History: Learning about diverse countries, their history, and tourist attractions.
Cuisine Knowledge: Familiarity with international cuisines and dining etiquette.
Support and Mentorship:
Students will have access to mentors and support networks within the program to assist them in personal and professional development.
Graduation and Job Placement:
Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate of achievement and support in securing employment within the concierge and travel industry. Job placement assistance will be provided to help them transition into the workforce.
