Project Title: 2024 Music Camp (non-marching) for Middle and High Schoolers
Project Description:

Music is an integral part of the fabric of our society. The intrinsic value of music is recognized in the many cultures that make up American Life. Every human culture uses music to carry forward its ideas and ideals. It connects us to our history, our traditions, and our heritage. It is a dominant force in the world, shaping every culture’s senses, as well as the valued of its children, as few other forces can. It is the language all people speak that cuts across racial, cultural, social, educational barriers and enhances cultural appreciation and awareness.

AMP has identified an unmet met for marginalized, low-income students in predominantly black Georgia neighborhoods for music education skill development. Public school music programs serving predominantly minority youth in low-income neighborhoods lack intensive talent development that enhance skills for student musicians who are interested in building their music appreciation and performance.

In 2024, AMP is launching a supplemental music education program for middle and high school students that will bridge the gap for low-income music students who live in Cobb, Douglas, Paulding and Carroll counties in Georgia. The Mary Frances Early Music Camp (non-marching) will premier in June 2024 with an intensive 5-day music education experience focusing on student achievement by increasing playing ability, performing challenging band literature, scales, tone quality, and reading skills. The final day of camp will be devoted to performance.

Students will return to their schools as leaders and core musicians who enhance the performance ability of their school band programs. Seniors will be better prepared to transition and gain admission into a hyper-competitive college music program where they will further hone their craft in pursuit of one day joining prestigious orchestras like the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, or the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Project Title: CHS 2023 Project
Project Description:

Today, I want to introduce you to an incredible organization that is making a profound impact on the lives of young adults in need.

Please allow me to present Costello Housing Solutions Incorporated (CHS)!

CHS is a nonprofit organization committed to providing transitional housing and holistic support to transitional age youth (TAY) who are / have aged out of foster care. We understand the unique challenges that these young individuals face as they navigate the path to independence. Our mission is to empower them with the necessary tools, resources, and skills to successfully transition into adulthood and lead fulfilling lives.

It is no secret that many TAY individuals are at risk of homelessness, unemployment, and lack of access to education and mental health services. The statistics are disheartening, but CHS is determined to break this cycle and provide a haven for these young adults, giving them the stability and support they need during this critical transition period.

At CHS, we go beyond just providing shelter. We have developed a comprehensive program that encompasses self-care, education, mental health care, financial literacy, and job training. By addressing these fundamental aspects, we are equipping TAY individuals with the necessary life skills to thrive independently and achieve their full potential.

What sets CHS apart is our personalized approach. We recognize that each individual has unique strengths, challenges, and aspirations. Our dedicated team works closely with the TAY population, tailoring our services to their specific needs and goals. Whether it’s assisting with college enrollment, vocational training, or connecting them with job opportunities, we are committed to helping them build a strong foundation for their future.

Our track record speaks for itself. We have witnessed incredible success stories of TAY individuals who have overcome adversity, secured stable housing, pursued higher education, and built fulfilling careers. By providing a safe and supportive environment, we have seen firsthand the transformative impact that CHS has on these young adults’ lives.

But we cannot do this alone. We need your support to continue our vital work. We invite you to join us in making a difference by contributing to our cause. Whether it’s through financial donations, volunteering your time and skills, or providing internship and job opportunities, your involvement can change the trajectory of a young person’s life.

In conclusion, Costello Housing Solutions Incorporated is more than just a transitional housing organization. We are a beacon of hope, providing a haven for TAY individuals who deserve a chance at a brighter future. Together, let’s empower these young adults, break the cycle of homelessness, and create a community where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

Thank you for your attention and support!
