The Norwalk Mutual Aid (NMA) Christmas Drive is a community-led effort to ensure that the financial strain of the holiday season does not deprive Norwalk children and families of joy, warmth, and food security. While many traditional holiday programs have rigid eligibility requirements, NMA operates on a "no-questions-asked" basis, reaching families who are often overlooked—including those in transitional housing, undocumented neighbors, and the "working poor" struggling with Fairfield County’s high cost of living.

This $10,000 request will fund the purchase of high-priority holiday essentials that are rarely covered by standard toy drives, specifically:

Winter Essentials: New coats, boots, hats, and gloves for children and seniors.

Gift Equity: Purchasing specific, requested toys and gift cards for teenagers (a demographic often underserved by general toy collections) to ensure every child in a household is included.

Holiday Food Security: Providing "Holiday Meal Boxes" containing culturally relevant groceries and fresh produce for family celebrations.

The drive is entirely volunteer-run, ensuring that 100% of the funds requested go directly toward purchasing items for Norwalk residents. By supporting this drive, the Hermanowski Foundation helps us move beyond simple charity toward true community solidarity, ensuring every neighbor can celebrate the season with dignity.
