Project Title: Champion’s Pursuit
Project Description:

The Jacksonville Sports Foundation will implement Champion’s Pursuit, a structured youth development program serving middle and high school students in 2026. Operating from March through November, the initiative will use three premier sporting events as anchor experiential learning opportunities within a broader education and workforce readiness framework.

The program will engage a cohort of Duval County youth, with intentional outreach to underserved communities. Participants will take part in educational workshops and immersive experiences that combine live sporting environments with structured instruction in financial literacy, Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) education, leadership development, character building, and career exposure within the sports industry. Each anchor event will include facilitated clinics, industry panels, and behind-the-scenes learning sessions
designed to introduce students to diverse career pathways such as event operations, sports marketing, communications, entrepreneurship, and collegiate athletics administration.

Programming will also emphasize expanded opportunities for girls in sports and equitable access to leadership pathways. Participants will receive structured mentorship, career pathway guidance, and college and workforce readiness support during the fall to reinforce key concepts and support continued academic and professional exploration. By leveraging sport as a high-interest platform, this initiative creates an accessible pathway to workforce
readiness and economic mobility for Duval County youth while building sustained engagement beyond a single event experience.
