Project Title: WFBT 26-27 Season
Project Description:

The WFBT trains and supports an audition-only pre-professional ballet company ages 11-18. The Company trains 6 days a week, and are known for their technique, performance quality, joy and love for dance, and their dedication to the craft. Our work received national recognition on the TV show "World’s Greatest!…" in February 2026 due to the exceptional dance education, connections, and opportunities we give our young dancers. We bring two main stage shows to our community each season. This upcoming season sees a return of The Nutcracker for the holiday season, a tradition in our community for over 60 years. Our Company dances all the main roles, with professional Guest Artists hired to partner with our senior dancers in the traditional pas de deux and provide them with invaluable experience and connections. Extra roles are filled in by cast members ages 6+, depending on their skill level and the needs of the show. We hold extra auditions or have sign-ups at our Dance Academy for these extra roles. Our spring show will be a conceptual show, currently titled "Rock Ballet." We are wanting to hire local musicians or an established local band to play live onstage while our dancers perform. Dancing to live music is an entirely different skillset compared to dancing with a pre-recorded track, and we feel strongly that this show will provide training our Company would not receive otherwise. Our community loves live music, and we hope to establish a working relationship with the live musicians in our area to bring audiences of live music and ballet together. We also provide one free live performance of our spring show each year to all area schools, homeschooling groups, and alternative education institutions in partnership with our local arts foundation’s Afternoon With The Arts program.
