Project Title: Joy & Confidence Kits: Portable Emotional Wellness Support for Vulnerable Children
Project Description:
The Delia Foundation respectfully submits this Letter of Inquiry to support the expansion of our Joy & Confidence Kits program serving vulnerable children with disabilities in rural Romania and low-income communities in Arizona.
Children with autism, intellectual disabilities, and trauma histories often lack access to consistent therapeutic tools outside of structured environments. Our Joy & Confidence Kits are portable wellness packages designed to reinforce emotional regulation, sensory stability, hygiene dignity, and confidence-building skills at home.
Each kit includes sensory tools, structured activity materials, hygiene items, emotional regulation aids, and age-appropriate educational supports. The kits are designed by our therapeutic staff to extend the benefits of speech therapy, occupational therapy, and social-emotional learning beyond our center walls.
We propose distributing 150 kits over 12 months to children identified as high-need through our Romanian center and Arizona partner networks. Each kit will be customized based on age and developmental level.
The program strengthens family stability, reinforces therapeutic progress, and promotes dignity for children who are often overlooked within public systems.
