Project Title: Youth Suicide Prevention Program
Project Description:

Through its comprehensive prevention model, With Hope, the Amber Craig Memorial Foundation builds a strong safety net for youth through education, training, crisis intervention, and postvention support.

Student Presentations (Life-Saving Education):
Age-appropriate (12–18) school assemblies provide evidence-based suicide prevention education on warning signs, risk factors, protective strategies, and help-seeking behaviors. Students learn how to identify risk in themselves or peers, connect with a trusted adult, and take immediate action when concerns arise.

Gatekeeper Training (Building a Safety Net):
Prior to student programming, training is provided to parents, educators, counselors, coaches, and community leaders. Participants learn to recognize suicide warning signs, respond confidently and appropriately, and connect youth to professional mental health resources.

Postvention Support (“Friends With Hope”):
A 12-session suicide bereavement support group offers research-based care for individuals and families impacted by suicide loss, promoting healing, reducing isolation, and strengthening protective coping strategies.

Founded in 2005 following the death of 14-year-old Amber Craig, the organization transformed personal tragedy into a proactive prevention framework grounded in nationally recognized best practices. The model emphasizes stigma reduction, early intervention, trusted adult connections, peer support, and immediate reporting of risk.

Since its founding, With Hope has reached more than 352,430 individuals and serves over 10,000 students annually. Post-program evaluations show measurable impact, with 92% of participants reporting increased ability to recognize suicide risk and greater confidence in seeking help or supporting a peer in distress.
