Project Title: HBCU Hoops Dream Beacon- Career Planning and Success for Student Athletes
Project Description:
HBCU Hoops Global Inc. is a mission-driven organization committed to expanding opportunity, exposure, and long-term success pathways for student-athletes attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Through our HBCU Hoops Dream Beacon: Career Planning and Success for Student Athletes initiative, we provide structured career readiness programming that operates alongside—but independently from—our HBCU Invitational basketball activities.
Dream Beacon is designed to ensure that student-athletes are prepared not only for competition, but for career and life success beyond the court. The program includes comprehensive Career Planning Sessions focused on resume development, career mapping, financial literacy, and personal brand strategy. We convene Industry Panels featuring accomplished mentors and professionals from business, technology, sports management, media, and entrepreneurship who provide real-world insights, networking access, and tangible next steps. Additionally, we offer hands-on technology demonstrations centered on artificial intelligence and automation, exposing student-athletes to emerging tools and high-growth career fields while equipping them with practical skill application strategies.
These educational and workforce development components serve as a bridge between athletics and professional achievement, empowering participants to translate discipline, teamwork, and leadership into competitive career advantages.
HBCU Hoops Global Inc. is seeking a $10,000 investment from the Hermanowski Foundation toward our $1,610,000 2026 operating budget to directly support Dream Beacon programming delivery, mentor engagement, technology access, and student participation resources. This funding will help ensure that HBCU student-athletes graduate not only with degrees, but with networks, digital fluency, and actionable career pathways that position them for long-term economic mobility and leadership.
