Project Title: Transformation Camp
Project Description:

A Transformation camp addressing youth behavior between 13 to 17 to disrupt the pipeline to prison. We use art as part of our mental health portion of the camp. Youth explore art in the forms of painting, music (analyzing lyrics tied to emotions as a form of artist expression) and dance. The core of the camp helps youth understand the real-life consequences of behavior from an Awareness perspective. Youth tour the jail and interview an inmate to learn how behaviors feed systems and those that monetarily benefit. They explore the medical side of gun violence and lastly visit a college university to address behaviors that will support academic success.
