Project Title: Youth Resilience & Leadership Cohort
Project Description:

Generational Breaks respectfully requests $10,000 to implement the Youth Resilience & Leadership Cohort, an 8-week trauma-informed leadership and wellness program serving 15 youth ages 13–19 in San Francisco, California.

This structured cohort equips youth with the emotional, social, and leadership tools necessary to reach their full potential. Through weekly three-hour workshops, participants engage in social-emotional learning, guided reflection circles, arts-based expression, and mentorship from community leaders. Sessions focus on emotional regulation, self-confidence, conflict resolution, and goal setting. The program culminates in a youth-led showcase where participants share their growth and leadership commitments with family and community members.

Generational Breaks has facilitated wellness workshops and youth development sessions serving over 75 youth and community members. Our approach centers on culturally responsive engagement, psychological safety, and practical skill-building that supports both personal growth and academic success.

Participants receive stipends to reduce financial barriers and affirm the value of their time and engagement. By the conclusion of the program:

80% of participants will demonstrate increased emotional literacy.

75% will report improved leadership confidence.

70% will demonstrate stronger conflict-resolution skills.

100% will complete a personal leadership action plan.

All grant funds will be fully utilized within one year of award and will directly support facilitator compensation, youth stipends, guest mentors, materials, and program evaluation.

Total Project Budget: $10,000
