Project Title: Igniting the Entrepreneurial Spirit in Youth (Community Workshops)
Project Description:

In partnership with the Hermanowski Family Foundation, Mason Makes Money Fund will provide seven weeks’ worth of free community workshops throughout the city of Houston. Through week-long interactive and FUNdamental educational camps which teach business planning and goal setting, marketing, financial management, and customer service, we will ignite and fuel the entrepreneurial spirit of more than 150 Houston youth, ages 7-15.

Founded in 2020, Mason Makes Money Fund (MMMF) was established to positively influence and support the next generation of entrepreneurs, business leaders, and visionaries to reach their highest potential. Inspired by the founder’s children’s book, Mason Makes Money, MMMF is its natural evolution, partnering with the Harris County Public Library system and other organizations to provide educational workshops which promote responsibility, augment critical thinking ability, mathematical comprehension and money management. Our goal is to equip youth with a variety of skills that will propel their future professional aspirations, encourage positive and productive citizenship, and reinforce the limitlessness of their dreams and aspirations through entrepreneurial education.

In its small, yet growing existence, MMMF has democratized entrepreneurial education, having widened access to over 400 youth of all ages in appropriately digestible and engaging formats and activities since inception. As a result of our most recent workshops held in 2025:

100% of Participants surveyed stated that our programs taught them something that they didn’t know about business/entrepreneurship;
100% of Participants surveyed said that they can use what they learned in our programs and apply it to their businesses immediately;
50% of Participants surveyed said they are very likely to use what they learned in their businesses, 50% said they are somewhat likely; and
100% Participants surveyed said our programs make them feel more empowered as a business owner.
