Project Description:
Project HOPE Boston is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting economic mobility by supporting women—particularly women of color and immigrants—through housing, education, workforce development, and entrepreneurship programming. For more than four decades, Project HOPE has helped families build stable, thriving futures.
Through Project HOPE’s Family Childcare Network Program, we strengthen one of the most critical yet under-resourced sectors of our economy: home-based early education. Family child care educators are small business owners, caregivers, and community anchors. Our network equips them with individualized coaching, professional development, licensing and business support, and a peer community that reduces isolation and builds leadership. By stabilizing and growing these women-led enterprises, we expand access to high-quality, culturally responsive early learning for working families.
For children, this means safe, nurturing environments during the most formative years of development. For providers, it means sustainable income, professional growth, and long-term business viability. For communities, it means stronger local economies and increased economic mobility for women entrepreneurs.
Support from the Hermanowski Foundation would allow us to scale this proven model—expanding our reach to more family child care providers, deepening coaching capacity, and strengthening the infrastructure needed to sustain quality at scale. Philanthropic investment at this stage is catalytic: it enables innovation, leverages public funding opportunities, and ensures that more families have access to stable, high-quality care.
By investing in Project HOPE Boston’s Family Childcare Network Program, the Hermanowski Foundation would help advance economic opportunity for women, strengthen early childhood systems, and create lasting impact for children and families.
