Project Title: Music Theater Works YouthREACH
Project Description:

Music Theater Works requests funding for our youth outreach including free and discount tickets and theater enrichment programs, as well as our performance-based summer programs, the Kids Company 1-week workshops for ages 8 to 13, and the Teen Company “shadow” production of our August show for students ages 13 to 18, on the set of the professional production. In particular, we are seeking support for low-income students including access to regular performances and Kids/Teen Company tuition waivers, transportation support, and after-program care for students with working parents. These programs serve 700 students annually.

Music Theater Works (MTW) is a professional nonprofit theater with a regional audience. The mission is to present the full spectrum of musical theater, to create a bridge for all audiences from classic works to present day and to engage youth and community in music, theater, and the arts. MTW uses multiple platforms including youth and community programs as well as the subscription season to connect to our diverse and thriving audiences. Programs are:
• Subscription season featuring four productions
• CommunityREACH and TicketREACH community partnerships
• YouthREACH programming for young people to promote interest in theater among children ages 8 to 18, immersing participants in the full range of performing arts skills, crafts, and knowledge.

REACH stands for “Revitalizing Education and Arts for Community Health.” The program mission is to build purposeful, ongoing collaborations with local organizations that engage new audiences, help build connections, and expand theater education through unique musical theater experiences.

Our goal is to build a theater that doesn’t just exist in our community but for our community, one that grows alongside it, listens to it, and helps shape its future. Music Theater Works is more than a producing company; it is a gathering place where creativity, compassion, and civic engagement meet.
