The Vision:

At Heart and Soil Acres, the 1 by 1 Project imagines more than a farm — we envision a living, breathing community rooted in purpose, connection, and hope. This space will be a place where neighbors gather, hands in the soil and hearts aligned, rediscovering the beauty of growing together.

Our community garden spaces will offer open beds where families, seniors, and young people can grow their own food, share wisdom, and reconnect with the land in meaningful ways. Alongside these gardens, innovative hydroponic farms built within repurposed shipping containers will allow us to grow fresh, healthy produce year-round. By blending tradition with innovation, we’ll model a future where sustainability and creativity thrive side by side.

Heart and Soil Acres will also serve as an educational hub — a living classroom where curiosity grows as naturally as the crops. Through workshops, school partnerships, and hands-on experiences, children and adults alike will learn about science, nutrition, sustainability, and even entrepreneurship. It will be a place where knowledge takes root and confidence blooms.

Most importantly, this farm will be built on generosity. Through partnerships with local food banks, churches, and outreach organizations, the harvest will extend far beyond our gates. Fresh, nutrient-rich food will reach families who need it most, strengthening not just bodies, but the fabric of the community itself.
