Project Title: Youth Leadership & Empowerment Initiative
Project Description:

Born2Ball DC is requesting $10,000 to support our Youth Leadership & Empowerment Initiative serving underserved youth in Washington, DC. This initiative provides structured mentorship, character development, and life-skills programming designed to equip youth with the tools needed for long-term academic and personal success.
The program serves youth ages 8–17 through small-group mentoring sessions, leadership workshops, goal-setting activities, and community engagement projects. Participants receive consistent guidance from trained mentors who reinforce accountability, positive decision-making, effective communication, and conflict resolution skills. Academic encouragement and progress check-ins are integrated to promote school engagement and long-term achievement.
Many of the youth we serve face economic and social barriers that limit access to enrichment opportunities and stable mentorship. Our initiative creates a safe, supportive environment where youth can build confidence, develop resilience, and strengthen leadership capacity. By fostering positive relationships and practical life skills, we help reduce risk factors associated with disengagement and negative peer influence.
Funding will support program materials, facilitator stipends, meeting space, youth resources, and transportation assistance. During the grant period, we anticipate serving 75–100 youth across Washington, DC.
Through intentional mentorship and leadership development, Born2Ball DC is building stronger families, empowered youth, and more resilient communities.
