Project Description:
RESET Inc.’s 24/7 Community Food Pantry is a barrier-free hunger relief initiative designed to ensure that individuals and families experiencing food insecurity have reliable access to nutritious food at any time. Located in Chesapeake, Virginia, the pantry operates around the clock, eliminating common barriers such as limited service hours, transportation challenges, and work schedule conflicts.
The project focuses on expanding pantry capacity, improving storage infrastructure, and maintaining consistent access to fresh produce, shelf-stable groceries, and culturally inclusive food options. Through a dignity-centered, choice-based model, community members select the items that best meet their household needs, promoting empowerment while reducing food waste.
Currently serving approximately 400–500 individuals per week (20,000–25,000 annually), the pantry supports low-income families, seniors on fixed incomes, veterans, youth, single-parent households, and individuals facing temporary crises. Demand continues to grow, highlighting the critical need for expanded storage, refrigeration upgrades, and sustainable food purchasing.
Grant funds will be used to strengthen food inventory, enhance storage and safety systems, and support operational costs necessary to maintain reliable 24/7 service. In addition, community outreach efforts will ensure families across the Hampton Roads region are aware of available resources.
Through strategic partnerships, strong financial stewardship, and volunteer engagement, RESET Inc. is committed to reducing hunger, improving health outcomes, and building long-term community resilience. This project ensures that no neighbor goes without access to nutritious food when they need it most.
