Project Title: Hope Academy for Girls
Project Description:
Hope Academy is a mentoring program for underserved middle and high school girls and teens during the summer and school year. The goal is to provide a supportive environment where disadvantaged girls can connect with positive role models, develop new skills and knowledge, and strive to achieve their full potential. The program fosters improved mental wellness and physical health, leadership, life skills, self-empowerment, resilience, and academic excellence.
Activities will include ongoing mentorship, a STEM summer camp, monthly educational sessions, quarterly workshops focused on topics such as nutrition, physical and mental health, self-care practices, career exploration field trips in nursing and other fields, and readiness for post-secondary education.
Anticipated program outcomes by May 31, 2027, include, 85% of participants will improve their knowledge of positive physical health and mental wellness practices; 90% will complete at least two health-related projects; and 90% will have an education or career plan for their future.
Hope Academy plants a seed of confidence in girls and young women to become a leader, a health advocate, and a champion for self and others.
