Project Title: Access to Neurological & ADHD Assessment Support for Underserved Children
Project Description:

Ibn Sina Foundation seeks operational support to expand access to neurological and ADHD assessments for uninsured and underserved children in the Greater Houston area. Our clinics currently experience a significant backlog of pediatric patients presenting with developmental delays, behavioral concerns, and suspected ADHD. Many families lack insurance coverage and face financial barriers that prevent timely evaluation and treatment.

Our multidisciplinary pediatric team includes four pediatricians, two of whom are pediatric neurologists and ADHD specialists. The clinic offers consultations at a reduced flat fee of $59; however, the actual clinical cost averages approximately $300 per patient, creating a financial burden for the organization while still remaining difficult for families to afford.

Funding will support clinical consultation costs, care coordination, and limited pharmacy assistance through medication gift cards to ensure treatment continuity. Children identified during assessment are connected to evidence-based therapy services, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs available through community partners such as ABC Centers across Houston.

The project focuses on children with special needs from low-income households, many of whom have never received neurological evaluation due to cost and access barriers. Grant support will help reduce wait times, strengthen referral pathways for therapy, and ensure families receive consultation and medication support, and follow-up care.

Operational funding will allow Ibn Sina Foundation to continue providing culturally competent, accessible ADHD and neurological services while supporting parents navigating complex developmental challenges.

Total Project Budget: $100,000
