Project Title: Tuition Assistance
Project Description:
Fontbonne, The Early College of Boston, founded in 1955 by the Sisters of St. Joseph, provides Catholic education for girls in grades 7–12, guided by the values of service, unity, empowerment, and faith. Today, 75% of students receive financial aid, 50% are students of color, and 10% qualify for free or reduced lunch. In 2019, we added grades 7 and 8, expanding access to rigorous, values-driven education for Boston-area girls who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend a private school.
Tuition Assistance – $5,000: These funds will go directly to students with financial need, ensuring they can fully engage in Fontbonne’s academics, arts, leadership, and community programs. Tuition support removes barriers, enabling students to thrive while developing the confidence, skills, and values to contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Gala Support – $5,000: The Fontbonne Gala unites alumni, families, and friends to celebrate the school’s mission and strengthen community connections. Support for the Gala enhances its ability to fund student programs, foster engagement, and build a network of ongoing support for Fontbonne’s diverse student body. The Gala is a key driver of community outreach, sustainability, and student opportunity.
By dividing this $10,000 grant between tuition assistance and Gala support, the Charles and Joan Hermanowski Foundation will directly impact students’ lives while strengthening the community that sustains them. Together, these funds advance the Foundation’s mission of fostering opportunity, growth, and potential in children, ensuring Fontbonne girls continue to flourish academically, socially, and spiritually.
