Project Title: Youth Sports Access & Equipment Support Program
Project Description:

Fitchburg Youth Football and Cheer Club, Inc. (FYFCC) provides affordable, structured football and cheer programs for youth ages 5–14 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Our organization serves families from a historically under-resourced community where financial barriers often limit access to youth sports.
The Youth Sports Access & Equipment Support Program ensures that children can safely participate regardless of a family’s ability to pay. Grant funding will be used to offset equipment costs, registration assistance, and program fees for low-income families, including helmets, shoulder pads, uniforms, and cheer gear that meet required safety standards.
Participation in youth sports promotes physical health, confidence, teamwork, discipline, and positive peer relationships. FYFCC also emphasizes inclusivity and works closely with families to support athletes with diverse needs, ensuring a welcoming and development-focused environment.
During the 2026 season, FYFCC anticipates serving over 150 youth athletes across football and cheer. Demand for financial assistance continues to grow as economic pressures affect local families. This project allows FYFCC to reduce financial hardship while maintaining high safety and program quality standards.
Funding from the Hermanowski Family Foundation will directly support youth participation, help remove cost barriers, and strengthen community-based youth development in Fitchburg.
