The Youth Health & Education Access Initiative is a community-based program designed to improve health literacy, preventive care access, and educational opportunity for underserved children and young adults (ages 12–21) in the Washington, DC–Maryland–Virginia (DMV) region.

Through this initiative, The Gatsby Showcase Foundation will deliver age-appropriate health education, preventive wellness resources, and educational support services to students from historically marginalized communities. Programming will focus on foundational health knowledge, early prevention, and educational readiness—recognizing that health and learning outcomes are deeply interconnected.

Key activities include community-based health education workshops, youth-centered wellness programming, and support services that remove barriers to educational participation, such as access to resources, mentorship exposure, and health-related learning tools. The program is designed to complement school and community efforts by reinforcing positive health behaviors and supporting academic persistence during critical developmental years.
