Project Title: STEM Exploration
Project Description:

The STEM Exploration Program is designed to ignite curiosity, build confidence, and expand opportunities for students through hands-on robotics and engineering experiences. Using 24 mBot Ranger robotics kits, students work individually or in pairs to explore coding, mechanical design, and problem solving in a highly engaging, project‑based environment.

The program introduces students to foundational STEM concepts–such as sensors, motion, circuitry, and programming logic–through guided challenges and open‑ended design tasks. Students learn to assemble, code, and operate their robots while developing critical thinking, teamwork, and creativity. Engineering notebooks, collaborative activities, and structured workshops help students document their learning and reflect on their progress.

To support a rich learning experience, the program includes a small STEM Choice Fund that allows teachers and students to select additional materials–such as sensors, craft supplies, or small electronics–to enhance projects and encourage innovation. Student incentives and a culminating celebration recognize effort, perseverance, and growth.

By providing access to high-quality robotics tools and meaningful STEM learning experiences, the STEM Exploration Program directly aligns with the Hermanowski Family Foundation’s mission to equip children and young adults with the tools they need to succeed and reach their full potential. Students gain not only technical skills but also the confidence and curiosity that fuel lifelong learning.
