Project Title: Crafting Confidence: Empowering Youth Through Art
Project Description:

The iCRAFT Vault Foundation proposes a one-year youth wellness and creative coping project designed to support children and young people who are experiencing high levels of stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm. Through structured, age-appropriate creative activities, the project will introduce art as a healthy outlet for self-expression, emotional regulation, and stress management.

The project will focus on providing youth with accessible opportunities to explore creative expression in a supportive environment where emotions can be acknowledged rather than suppressed. Activities will include guided art sessions, creative reflection, and group discussions that encourage participants to identify feelings, practice calming techniques, and build positive coping skills. The project is preventative in nature and aims to reduce risk factors associated with unresolved stress, including behavioral challenges and substance misuse.

This initiative is rooted in the founder’s professional experience as a school nurse, where she has observed a growing number of children struggling to manage stress without appropriate tools or outlets. By introducing creative coping strategies early, the project seeks to equip youth with lifelong skills that support emotional well-being and resilience.

The project will be implemented over a twelve-month period and will serve youth through community-based sessions and partnerships with local families and educators. Grant funds will be used exclusively during the year following the award to support project materials, facilitation, and implementation. At the conclusion of the project, outcomes will be evaluated based on participation, engagement, and observed improvements in coping skills, with a final report submitted to the foundation as required.
