Project Title: Pathways to Financial Independence: Building Money Skills for Youth and Young Adults
Project Description:
Pathways to Financial Independence is a one-year financial capability project designed to equip youth and young adults ages 14–21 with the practical money skills needed to successfully transition into adulthood. Led by MakingChange, Inc., the project will deliver interactive financial education workshops and individualized financial coaching focused on budgeting, saving, understanding paychecks, building credit, and preparing for post-secondary education or employment.
The project will serve youth from low- to moderate-income households, including first-generation college-bound students and young adults entering the workforce. Programming emphasizes real-world application and decision-making to help participants avoid common financial pitfalls and build habits that support long-term economic stability.
Project outcomes will be measured using pre- and post-assessments, participation tracking, and client feedback. MakingChange will submit a final evaluation report to the Hermanski Family Foundation upon completion of the project, documenting outcomes, lessons learned, and overall impact.
