Project Title: Teacher Stipends
Project Description:

ParentTeach Institute provides evidence-based healing centered parenting and caregiving education that teaches transformative relational life skills. The grant of $10,000 would cover 6 months of the teachers stipend cost. ParenTeach provides a unit taught in high school to help students (ages 13 to 18) build skills in communication, emotional regulation and healthy relationships that will lay the groundwork for future parenting and caregiving. These skills not only enhance students’ social and emotional development but also reduce risk factors associated with mental health challenges and future involvement with child welfare or the justice system. Crucially, this funding would also remove economic barriers that prevent low to no income families from participating. Schools and community partners consistently express enthusiasm for the curriculum but lack the resources to fully implement it.
