Project Title: Synergy Youth Music & Leadership Program (2026 Season)
Project Description:
Synergy Indoor is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in McAllen, Texas, dedicated to empowering low-income and first-generation youth through year-round arts education and mentorship. We respectfully request $10,000 to support our 2026 Youth Music & Leadership Program, which provides structured weekend programming for students ages 11–21 in the Rio Grande Valley — one of the most underserved border regions in the United States.
Our students come from economically disadvantaged communities where access to extracurricular opportunities, especially in the arts, is limited. Many face systemic barriers including poverty, food insecurity, and under-resourced schools. Synergy offers a safe, consistent, and uplifting space where students can stay off the streets, develop life skills, and receive guidance from trained educators and mentors.
The program runs from September to August and includes full-weekend rehearsals, community performances, peer mentorship, and specialized clinics in percussion, movement, leadership, and wellness. We remove financial barriers by offering scholarships, instrument access, and free meals, ensuring that cost is never a reason a student can’t participate.
In 2026, this project will serve over 40 enrolled students directly, and over 240 youth total through public outreach. Participants gain not only musical skills, but also increased self-confidence, improved academic motivation, and a deeper sense of belonging.
We evaluate our impact through both quantitative data (attendance, retention, academic progress, performance milestones) and qualitative methods (interviews, reflections, surveys). A final grant report will summarize all outcomes and fund usage.
Synergy represents the Rio Grande Valley on state and national stages and continues to grow as a life-changing program rooted in inclusion, mentorship, and excellence. Your support will allow us to continue building brighter futures through the power of music and community.
