Project Title: THRIVE! A Campaign to Prioritiize Children in Education
Project Description:
The THRIVE! campaign is a bold, three-year initiative of Freedom in Education designed to reimagine what is possible for American education. With a goal of raising $10 million, this effort will mobilize parents, equip teachers, and engage districts to create an ecosystem where every child has the opportunity to succeed. At its heart, THRIVE! seeks to confront a national crisis in student achievement and to build a movement that transforms outcomes across communities.
The urgency is undeniable. Current global rankings place the United States 6th in reading, 16th in science, and 34th in math. These numbers paint a sobering picture of the future workforce and the nation’s capacity to compete and flourish in an increasingly knowledge-driven world. Too many students are left behind, particularly those from low-income and underserved communities, who face systemic barriers to quality education. THRIVE! is a response of both necessity and conviction—an effort to not only address the gap but to decisively change the trajectory of American education.
The vision is ambitious yet attainable. Over three years, THRIVE! will double the number of students proficient in core academic subjects and triple proficiency among underserved children. Parents will be empowered to advocate for their children’s education with clarity and confidence. Teachers will be equipped with evidence-based instructional practices that drive measurable gains in student learning. Districts and states will be engaged as partners, working toward sustainable systems of accountability and excellence.
This campaign is not simply about better test scores; it is about restoring hope and opportunity for children and families. By uniting parents, teachers, and communities in a common cause, THRIVE! will deliver transformative results that endure far beyond the life of the campaign. With this grant, we will seize the moment to ensure that America’s children do more than survive—they will thrive.
