Project Title: Launching Little Learners: Breaking the Cycle of Poverty Through Access to Quality Childcare
Project Description:

Caterpillar Clubhouse (CCH) provides high-quality early childhood education in Bowie, MD, for children aged 6 weeks to pre-K. We understand that affordable childcare is often a significant barrier for families, hindering parents, especially mothers, from working or pursuing education, thus perpetuating a cycle of poverty. This project aims to break that cycle with $2,500 in childcare scholarships.

With funding from the Charles and Joan Hermanowski Family Foundation, 10 families will receive $250 per child towards their CCH childcare costs. This direct financial assistance empowers parents to work or pursue education, increasing their earning potential and improving family economic stability. By easing the burden of childcare costs, we enable parents to invest in their futures and create better lives for their children.

These scholarships offer a multifaceted impact:

Economic Empowerment: Parents gain financial independence, contributing to family well-being.
Education: Parents can pursue further education or training for better job opportunities.
Child Development: Children benefit from consistent, high-quality early education at CCH, promoting their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
Family Well-being: Financial stability and access to childcare reduce family stress.
Investing in affordable childcare is investing in the future. These scholarships support children’s development and empower families to break the poverty cycle, aligning perfectly with the Hermanowski Foundation’s mission of transforming young lives by providing tools for success.
