Project Title: Empowering Youth Through Academics, Mental Health and Wellness Program.
Project Description:

Our 12-month will engage our youth and their families in a healthy exchange of knowledge which will assist to divert at-risk youth from the criminal justice system and prevent youth involvement in crime and violence.
Your donation will support our students through the following 12-month curriculum. Program Inputs: Dance, Exercise, Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship and Youth Business Modeling, Community Responsibility and Civics, Organizational Culture, Diversity, Emotional Intelligence, Effective Communication, lime Management, Social skills training, Healthy Living, Educational Preparedness -Discussions on Future Educational Opportunity, Pervasive intervention strategies, School-related problems and a Graduation Program. Currently, over 65% of high school students are not academically prepared for college and can lead to higher rates of criminal involvement and lack of motivation, solidifying the need for community education programs.

The goal of our program is to improve the academic, educational, health and well-being of youth and families Through our innovative programs students will achieve educational goals, stay healthy and maintain their mental wellness. Eastside believes that all youth deserve access to adequate education, hygiene facilities, nutrition, health /wellness and community services.
We serve approximately 300 students with their families around the City of North Plainfield, New Jersey each year with 45% of them currently below grade level and are in the bottom 50% of our educational spectrum as compared to all state-wide data. Our students graduate at a rate of 87%, which has decreased from 95% over the last five school years. In 2024, 14.0% of our residents were in poverty. Eastfield connects with families and provides innovative dance programs, creative arts, mentor-ship assistance and support for all youth within our community. Our education project is unique, with a strategy designed to meet our students’ specific needs and help them succeed.
