The Cultural Broker program is a collaborative initiative where Discovering You serves as Cultural Brokers, dedicated to strengthening families involved with the Arizona Department of Child Safety (ADCS) with a profound commitment to family preservation. Our core aim is to reduce disproportionality and disparities within the child welfare system, prevent unnecessary child removals, and facilitate family reunification when out-of-home placement occurs. As Cultural Brokers, we act as advocates, interpreters, and navigators, personally bridging communication gaps and fostering trust between families and child protection agencies, all while empowering families to leverage their own strengths and community resources to keep families safely together.
