Project Title: Suiting Up Students with Skills for Career Success
Project Description:

Since 2015, the Suits for Seniors (SFS) initiative has celebrated its 10th anniversary and significantly influenced the lives of more than 3400 students with its career skills programs. It boasts a 100% high school graduation rate and a 95% post-secondary education completion rate. This request is for sponsorship of the 2025-26 school year for 300 students in 12 Title I high schools. SFS is a comprehensive 8-week program offered twice annually that prepares underserved high school seniors in Title I high schools for graduation, post-secondary education, and aspirational careers. These sessions complement traditional school curricula, addressing the personal, financial, and professional skills essential for navigating today’s competitive landscape. When students complete the 8-week program, SFS awards each student with new professional suits and accessories. The grant funds will be used for student supplies and purchasing new suits for 50 of the 300 students. Also, SFS awards a new laptop to students who complete the 8-week program and scholarships to 20-25 outstanding students.
