Project Title: Evaluations and Support For Young Children
Project Description:

The Gentry Foundation for Autism is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing access to crucial evaluations and ongoing resources for children age 5 and under who may be affected by autism spectrum disorder. The foundation provides no-cost evaluations to Arizona families who meet low-income criteria. If a child receives an autism diagnosis, families have the option to work with a 1:1 Family Liaison, who assists in navigating ongoing resources and support systems. A timely diagnosis is essential for gaining access to critical early intervention services, which are proven to significantly improve short-term developmental progress and long-term quality of life outcomes for individuals on the autism spectrum. Children diagnosed at age 3, for instance, can receive up to 1,500 additional hours of therapy and services by the time they reach kindergarten, compared to children who are not diagnosed until kindergarten. This early intervention is critical in maximizing developmental potential and fostering lifelong success.
