Project Title: Audience Chairs for The Penny Smith Theatre
Project Description:

FCCT has been an all-volunteer youth theatre in Western PA for nearly 50 years, providing 1000’s of young people opportunities to develop their confidence and skills through an inclusive and supportive arts program. We serve young people ages 4-21 and accept all who audition for our casts. However, we’ve never had a stage of our own; traveling and renting local stages has become increasingly difficult and costly. However, we’ve been given the opportunity to become part of a redeveloped theatre space in a historically underserved community. This new theatre space will be part of a larger cultural hub of businesses and community engagement. We are thrilled to be part of this opportunity but must transform this space into a functioning theatre. We are requesting grant support to purchase new seating for this theatre that will allow us to accommodate our audience safely and comfortably, as they often include parents and grandparents of our performers. We are collaborating with another local community theatre and have secured $25,000 in total grant funding, and are prepared to contribute an additional $35,000 of combined funding from our own organizations.
