Project Title: Urban Leadership Training and Development
Project Description:
Urban Youth Workers Institute (UYWI) is committed to developing urban leaders to serve as role models for youth, guiding them toward transformed lives through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to fuel a movement of urban leaders who will restore and rebuild broken communities globally. UYWI serves multi-ethnic leaders aged 20-40 working in urban churches and youth-serving organizations, providing resources, training, and support to counteract isolation, burnout, and lack of development opportunities.
Since 2020, UYWI has focused on equipping healthy, high-capacity, high-impact leaders through core programs, including digital leadership resources, UYWI Certification Program, UYWI Coaching Program, Fuel Networks, Congregational Leadership Development Program, and Organizational Leadership Development Program. Despite significant progress—training nearly 7,000 leaders who have reached over 300,000 youth—the need remains vast. The rapidly diversifying U.S. population and urban youth’s socio-economic and spiritual challenges emphasize the urgency of our work.
By 2025, UYWI aims to expand its reach fivefold, increasing the number of trained leaders, cohorts, networks, and overall impact. Urban youth face unprecedented struggles, including poverty, violence, mental health crises, and a mass departure from the Church. Without access to well-trained mentors, many are left without guidance. UYWI bridges this gap by empowering youth workers with knowledge, tools, and leadership frameworks to engage and disciple the next generation effectively.
We seek strategic partnerships to train 500 additional urban leaders this year, adding to the 7,000 already developed. At $3,500 per leader annually, partners play a crucial role in supporting and sustaining this transformative mission. Together, we can equip urban youth workers to be healthy, high-capacity, and high-impact leaders, ensuring that future generations experience the Gospel in tangible ways. Join us in shaping the future of urban ministry and empowering the next wave of transformational leaders.
