Project Title: Free Student Matinees for All
Project Description:

Amphibian Stage launched our ‘Free Matinee Show’ program under the Arts Education umbrella in 2022.

By offering field trips to arts/theatre departments for Free matinee shows along with professional artist talk backs we are able to support the performing arts educators with their curriculum and the critical connection the students need with the arts community and arts professionals, in order to chart their future in theatre.

While school programs in theater produce great quality work, we offer the students a glimpse of a future in this field and an opportunity for their questions to be answered by successful professionals with the expectation that we are creating a talent pipeline of young artists, to retain talent in the North Texas region.

The target audience for this program is middle and high school students in performing arts/theatre departments from Fort Worth ISD, neighboring ISDs and charter schools in Fort Worth. At the start of each school year, we reach out to our existing partners and potential partners to create a calendar of student matinee shows in alignment with our production season, understand their curricular needs, select artists who will best meet those needs in post-show talk backs.
