Project Title: Enterprise for Youth Paid Summer Internships
Project Description:

Enterprise for Youth seeks support to sponsor six (6) paid summer internships for high school students through our comprehensive internship programs. Our internships provide under-resourced youth with hands-on work experience across diverse sectors, including healthcare, technology, arts and design, financial & legal services, and public service.

Interns work alongside professionals on meaningful projects, gaining valuable workplace experience and exploring potential career paths. They develop critical skills in teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving, laying a strong foundation for future success.

All interns participate in our Job Readiness Training (JRT), a curriculum designed to equip youth with essential workplace competencies. Training topics include professional communication, time management, résumé writing, and interview techniques. This ensures participants are well-prepared to excel in any professional environment.

At the conclusion of the summer, interns showcase their experiences at our Career Expo. This event provides an opportunity for students to reflect on their growth, present their learnings, and network with industry professionals, and community members. It is a celebration of their achievements and a step forward in their career development.

By sponsoring six internships, your support will directly empower the next generation of leaders. You will provide access to career exploration opportunities, foster confidence and professional growth, and help youth build the skills needed for long-term success.

Our total project budget included our internship wages & expenses of $500,000.
This amount offers paid wages to 300 interns at a cost of $450,000 or $1500 per intern ($20/hr. x 75 hours); Job Readiness Training at a cost of $37,500 or $125 per intern; and food & transportation for our youth at $12,500.

The amount we are asking of The Charles and Joan Hermanowski Foundation is $9000, which could help defer the cost of 6 interns’ summer wages or (6 x $1500 per intern).

Total Project Budget: $500,000
