Project Title: Exceptional Education Program
Project Description:
Our center offers before- and after-school programs for kindergarten to fifth graders, so working parents never have to worry about their children getting to school on time. We provide morning and evening transportation for school-age students to and from school. Noble Learning Center offers a nutritious breakfast for morning students and a healthy snack after school. We provide educational activities, homework help, and tutoring after school, and we have an outdoor playground to let the students play and socialize.
The staff at Noble Learning Center (NLC) offer creative curriculums to help fuel our students’ desire to learn new things every day. Our outstanding teachers provide hands-on activities and lessons to teach new things to our school-age students, ages 5 to 12. NLC uses a creative, hands-on approach to learning because we want students to engage in every lesson. Instead of dreading going to school every day, our goal is to keep students excited and ready to learn more. Our school-age program runs year-round and provides students with the highest quality of care and learning. We provide fun, educational trips throughout the community and fun, hands-on activities in reading, math, science, and health. The teacher-to-student ratio for school-age students is 1:15, so they can have the individualized attention and care needed to succeed. A nutritious Breakfast, lunch, and a snack are provided each day.
No program is complete without highly trained, dedicated staff. Classroom teachers and aides are specially trained in trauma-informed classroom management techniques that allow each child to be strategically guided or redirected. All staff members are certified in CPR, first aid, and choking procedures.
Total Project Budget: Tutoring before and after school (staffing costs): $3,600. Program Development and Trainings: $2,400. Field Trip Experiences: $1,500. Professional development, annual safety trainings: $1,600, Supplies: $600. Professional Organization Membership / licensure: $300.
Other Funding
Sources For The Project (Committed & Potential): Other sources for the project include licensed childcare state reimbursements, which are committed funds, local foundation grants, which are potential funds, fundraiser event funds, which are committed, and parent-paid fees. Some parent fees are subsidized through Jobs and Family First childcare vouchers in Ohio, and these are income-based. The funding from these depends on the state budget and how much each family receives.
