Project Title: ACFA Visual Arts Program
Project Description:
Since 1986, The Alisal Center for the Fine Arts (ACFA) has provided cultural art experiences and instruction to children, youth and families living in East Salinas. During this period, ACFA has established itself as a cultural and artistic community "hub" of the community. ACFA is the focal point and home to a growing number of budding artists, art programs and community art collectives working to empower and provide enrichment opportunities for youth. ACFA provides a safe and welcoming space for youth to grow and explore their artistic abilities.
We provide opportunities for young artists to showcase their art through art exhibitions, musical performances and cultural celebrations, all free to the community.
The Alisal Center for the Fine Arts is requesting program funding for our “Visual Art” program.
ACFA Cultural & Family Arts is a visual arts program that offers a creative space for youth to explore
diverse cultural traditions and histories. Through hands-on art activities, we promote cultural awareness and the preservation of family values, deeply rooted in the community we serve.
Fall Family Art encourages families to create art together, fostering connection and cultural expression through collaborative projects.
Beginning Art introduces youth to the basics of visual arts, helping them develop foundational skills and an appreciation for various art forms.
Advanced Art builds on these skills, offering more complex techniques and opportunities for artistic growth.
This program provides a creative space for cultural exploration, where youth are exposed to a plethora of cultural traditions and history through visual arts. Our activities promote cultural awareness and preservation of family values that are relevant to the community we serve. Our visual arts workshops are open to participants of all skill levels and experience and engage whole families, especially during the Fall, in preparation for our annual Dia De Los Muertos celebration.
