Project Title: Public Schools Mobile Pottery Studio
Project Description:

Ceramics is an art for all ages and abilities that activates the senses, enhances motor skills, instills confidence, and fosters creative meditation. However, it can be expensive, time-consuming, and messy. For these reasons, ceramics is often excluded from elementary arts education programs. Clay Day LBC’s mission is to bring free ceramics instruction to children in Long Beach, CA. The Mobile Pottery Studio, Clay Day LBC’s core program, specifically introduces underserved students in TK-8th grade to the methods, processes, and techniques of clay to help them access their imagination in a safe environment during their regularly scheduled school day. Our goal for 2026 is to introduce over 6,000 students in the Long Beach Unified School District to the art of clay.
