Project Title: Equine Therapy for special needs children
Project Description:

Your grant dollars will help support our equine-assisted therapy for children with physical, mental and emotional disabilities. Today we have 63 children in our program.

The primary reason to help support this project is how useful this type of treatment is for these children. This therapy relieves the stress of the parent plus aids the child to overcome their disability. According to the United States Census Bureau, an estimated 51 million people are classified as disabled. Of this group, an estimated 4 million children are considered legally physically challenged as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Parents of children with disabilities find it extremely difficult to pay for this much- needed equine therapy. The average cost per rider across all types of treatments we offer is $4,800 per year. There are three sessions a year for a total of 30 weeks. No student is refused access to our program due to their inability to pay.

Total Project Budget: $324,620
