Project Title: The Victory Center Art Therapy Program
Project Description:
Thank you for the past grants given to The Victory Center by the Hermanowski Family Foundation. We have grown in successfully graduating students to mainstream education as well as demonstrated success in improving and transforming the lives of children and young adults by equipping students with the daily living skills needed. We are requesting your support for 2026 so that we may continue to provide the most innovative programs for students with autism and related disabilities. Our current offerings that integrate education, vocational training, and community-centered learning would be tremendously enhanced by continuing to build our art therapy program that was new this school year.
A $10,000 grant is needed to provide supplies, training and instruction for our Art Therapy Program for the students in the Primary and Secondary Program (Ages 5-22). Art therapy is a mental health intervention that uses the creative process of art making to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages. It is based on the belief that the creative process involved in artistic self-expression helps people to resolve conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, manage behavior, reduce stress, increase self-esteem and self-awareness, and achieve insight. Funding would support the art supplies and instruction needed for this program.
We already see our students showing improvement from their experience in our Art Therapy Program with:
· Improved development of social skills like communication and teamwork
· Improved emotional expression
· Improved sensory regulation
· Improved fine motor skills
The community served by this program will be the 34 students enrolled in our Primary and Secondary Programs.
Thanks to generous donors like you, we will expand our scope to provide a multitude of opportunities for education and therapy by giving students the tools to succeed and to achieve their full potential.
