Project Title: Lemonade Day
Project Description:

I would like to introduce you to Lemonade Day, a community-wide program focused on
entrepreneurship and financial literacy. This initiative is part of a national effort dedicated
to teaching youth how to start, own, and operate their own businesses through the simple
yet impactful experience of running a lemonade stand. Lemonade Day is a strategic 14-
step process that guides youth from a dream to a business plan while teaching them the
same principles required to start any big company.
In our after-school programs, students are registered to participate and receive a
backpack containing an Entrepreneur Workbook. This workbook guides them through the
valuable lessons of Lemonade Day, including goal setting, planning, execution, and
realizing their dreams.
We have been pleased with our partnership with the City of Albuquerque, as it has allowed
us to extend our community outreach to children who may not attend our programs,
teaching them that they can become young entrepreneurs. The program culminates in an
exciting day of operation known as Lemonade Day, held in Old Town Plaza on the 2nd
weekend of May! After their day of operation, our young entrepreneurs pay back their
investors, keep the remaining profits, and are encouraged to spend some, save some, and
share some by giving back to the community
