Project Title: General Operations
Project Description:
Northland Early Education Center (NEEC) provides early education and therapy services for children who have special needs as well as early education for children who have typical needs, in a fully inclusive classroom environment in order for them to reach their full potential.
Northland Early Education Center serves children from birth through 5 years old in a fully inclusive early education classroom environment. All classrooms have a lead teacher with a bachelor’s degree or working toward a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, special education, or a related field and at least two assistant teachers. NEEC also offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, special instruction, and applied behavioral analysis to qualifying children. Additionally, NEEC serves children K-5th grade with an IEP or 504 plan through before and after care and summer care. Annually NEEC serves about 300 children through early education, therapeutic intervention services, and/or before and after care.
NEEC holds accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) as well as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)
Northland Early Education Center runs on a $3.3 million annual budget. Due to the Clay Count Children’s Service Board deciding to move toward supporting school district initiatives to serve children through mental health programs and NEEC’s denial of funding for 2025, we are facing a budget deficit of $215,000 for 2025. This deficit is to be made up through grants and additional fundraising efforts. Believing that NEEC’s mission aligns with the Hermanowski Foundation’s goal to support organizations focused on education and health and welfare services, I respectfully request that the Hermanowski Foundation consider funding Northland Early Education Center’s general operations at $5,000.
