Project Title: Power of Resilience Program Expansion
Project Description:

Hope Of A Billion’s Power of Resilience program transcends conventional education by cultivating resilience and inspiring ambition in children aged 6-16. Through dynamic interactions with founder Olympian Akwasi Frimpong and other local heroes, students develop self-awareness, passion, and confidence to realize their potential. Our sports-based mentorship and skills development transform youth into impactful leaders who harness inner strength and create lasting community change.

Encourage: HOAB’s 1-day Power of Resilience workshops push students beyond comfort zones to discover their potential. Through classroom resilience lessons, film screenings, and outdoor activities, students envision and pursue previously unimaginable goals.

Engage: This expanded after-school program will deepen the workshop experience, fostering meaningful dialogue and stronger connections between students and mentors.

Empower: Comprehensive wraparound services will bridge education and career development through job shadowing and mentorship, providing students with practical experiences for professional success.

In partnership with schools, educators, and community allies, HOAB has already inspired over 2,700 young people to pursue their dreams through the Power of Resilience workshops. Our expansion plan targets 50+ U.S. schools with the more intentional Engage mentoring program first, while also continuing to offer the Power of Resilience 1-day programs and eventually the Empower program, reaching 15,000+ children annually.
